Charles E. Lavis Jr. was born on June 29, 1965 in New Orleans. He received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in 1987. He graduated from Loyola University School of Law in 1994 and has been practicing law in New Orleans for over a decade. Throughout his entire legal career, Charles has represented the interests of homeowners and consumers just like you in matters against insurance companies. He has never represented insurance companies- never has, never will. Charles is member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America & Workers Injury & Advocacy Group. He has trained in handling hurricane insurance claims and in using Xactimate 24, the estimating software that most major insurance companies use. Charles is aware of the gamesmanship practices that hurricane adjusters use to reduce the amount of money paid out on hurricane insurance claims. He employs practices to counteract these tactics. Charles has been recognized as an Advocate by the Association of Trial Lawyers of American National College of Advocacy. He has also received a diploma in Trial Advocacy Skills from the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. When he is not working, Charles enjoys fishing, grilling and spending time with his wife and his two young children.
